How we book, what happens when plans change, and what you can expect from us in the studio. These are the rules referred to on our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy pages, which cover the website and your personal information rather than the visit itself.
Booking is required as a rule. Walk-ins are accepted only when a technician is available.
A booking made through the site is a request for an appointment; it is confirmed when we confirm it. One technician works in the studio, and one client is served at a time — so a booked slot is genuinely held for you, and a slot lost at short notice usually stays empty.
Plans change. You can move or cancel an appointment yourself from your account up to 24 hours before the start time. Inside 24 hours, call or text us and we will do what we can.
We take no deposits, we do not keep your card on file, and there is no cancellation or no-show fee. What we ask for instead is notice. Where appointments are repeatedly missed without it, we may ask to arrange future bookings by phone rather than online.
Up to fifteen minutes of lateness is absorbed without comment. Past that, the appointment may need to be shortened — usually by dropping design elements — so the day does not slide for the client after you, and the price for the time reserved still applies. Where what is left is not enough to do the work properly, we will rebook you instead.
Tell us if you are running late. A text on the way is often the difference between a shortened service and a rebooked one.
Customer accounts and online booking are for adults aged 18 and over. Clients aged 11 to 17 are welcome for permitted manicure services, arranged and authorized by a parent or guardian — by phone or text rather than through the site, because our booking system assumes the person booking is the person being served. We do not build nail extensions or apply Gel Overlay for anyone under 18.
Red Orchid is at 8500 Macleod Trail SE, Unit 400 - Floor 4, Calgary, AB T2H 2N1.
The room holds a maximum of four people, so a companion is welcome when we know in advance — including the parent or guardian of a client aged 11 to 17. No accompanying children, no pets, no food or alcohol.
The prices and durations shown when you book are the current ones. Before work starts you get a consultation and the estimated total for the appointment, and no additional work or surcharge is performed without being discussed and agreed with you first — never afterwards.
Payment is taken in the studio at the end of the appointment. Prices are in Canadian dollars.
A manicure and pedicure booked together are one combined appointment at 5% off, performed one after the other by the same technician.
Bring references — we reproduce, adapt, or design from them. An exact copy is not always possible: length, shape, shades, materials and technique all differ from one set of hands to the next, and heavily edited or AI-generated references often cannot be reproduced physically at all. Where what you have brought is not achievable on your nails today, you will hear it before work starts, along with what is.
Chips, lifting or premature coating failure within five days of your appointment are fixed free, on up to three nails. Tell us as soon as you notice — do not wait for the fifth day, and do not file or remove anything yourself first.
Not covered: physical damage, self-removal or self-filing, incorrect aftercare, another technician's work, and normal wear. On nail art, application defects are covered but mechanical damage is not, and fragile 3D elements, large rhinestones and charms are not covered at all. A broken extended nail is not a coating failure — it goes to Single Nail Repair, priced at the New Full Set price divided by ten and multiplied by one and a quarter, and free inside the first five days only where the cause is a material or workmanship defect.
Beyond three nails we assess the set individually, and the fix is free where the fault is ours.
Completed services are not refunded — we would rather correct the work. Nothing on this page limits your rights under Alberta consumer protection law.
Alberta's personal services standards require our technician to assess the skin and nails before starting, and not to proceed where a condition could compromise healing. That is why we ask about allergies, skin and nail conditions, recent treatments, and anything affecting how you heal — before the appointment where you can, and at the table if it comes up later.
Our pedicures are cosmetic foot-care services performed with professional equipment and a hygiene-first protocol. We work only with superficial, uncomplicated conditions. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions and refer anything outside our scope to a physician, podiatrist or foot-care nurse.
We do not perform a pedicure over active infection, bleeding, ulceration, pus, significant swelling, an open wound, or a painful inflamed ingrown nail. Diabetes alone is not an automatic refusal; reduced sensation, impaired circulation, non-healing damage or other elevated-risk factors may require medical clearance first.
Pregnancy is not a contraindication for most services. The appointment is adapted — ventilation, low-odour materials, breaks, a shorter duration, no intensive massage on request. Complicated pregnancies should be cleared with a doctor first.
Photographs of the finished work are emailed to you roughly six to eight days after the appointment.
Publishing them — in our gallery, or anywhere on social media — needs your separate, explicit permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time. Agreeing to receive our emails is not permission to publish photographs of your hands.
Our technician may decline or stop a service where someone is intoxicated, threatening, harassing or abusive, including discriminatory language and including toward other clients. This runs in both directions: you can expect the same courtesy from us, and where you do not get it, say so.
Anything on this page, or anything we have not covered: email [email protected] or use our contact page. For how we handle your personal information, including who to ask about it, see our Privacy Policy.
