Pedicure in Calgary

Two pedicures. One technique.

from C$18

What This Service Is

We run two pedicures in Calgary, not one. Spa Pedicure is the complete pedicure. Russian Pedicure lets you take only the zone that is actually the problem. Same technician, same standard of work; what changes is the scope, and the scope is agreed with you before anything starts.

Both are performed dry. Pedicure discs only cut properly on dry skin, which is what lets us skip chemical callus removers entirely. What we work on is superficial and cosmetic; anything past that is named at the table and referred where it belongs.

Which pedicure in Calgary you should actually book

Spa Pedicure is the whole foot in one appointment — nail and cuticle work on all ten toes, sole work by disc across the heel, ball and edges, and an extended care stage to finish. C$72, 65–80 min, both zones included. Book it when you want the complete pedicure, or when you are not certain which part is the problem.

Russian Pedicure is the same work with the zones chosen by you. Complete (Toe Nails + Sole Care) is C$47; Toe Nails only is C$18 and runs 20 min; Sole Care only is C$29 and runs 30–35 min. There is no extended care stage — that belongs to Spa — so book it when your feet are in reasonable shape and one area needs attention, or when you are maintaining between full appointments. Same technician, same standard. Smaller scope.

Advanced Sole Care is neither, and it is not something you book. It is an extension of sole care the technician adds when safe cosmetic work needs materially more time than the standard appointment allows — substantially hardened skin, numerous moderate calluses or corns, several moderate cracks. The extra work, the extra time and the price are explained at the table first, and it goes ahead only once you have agreed and only if the time is there on the day.

That is the rule in both directions. The technician assesses your feet at the start and says what the appointment actually needs. Where that means a different service, a different price or a different length, it is discussed with you before any work begins — and whether the booking can be changed on the day depends on what you agree to and on what the schedule allows.

A manicure and a pedicure booked into the same visit run as one combo appointment at five percent off, performed one after the other by the same technician. Booking is required as a rule. Walk-ins are accepted only when a technician is available.

What this is, and what it is not

The phrase medical pedicure is worth clearing up, because it does not describe what we do. It means foot care delivered by a nurse, a podiatrist or another qualified health professional. Red Orchid is a cosmetic foot-care studio.

In practice that rules in mild cracks, mild calluses and corns, ordinary hardened skin, safe thinning and shortening of thickened nails, and a limited number of moderate areas where they are safe to work and fit inside the appointment. It also draws a firm line: nothing is worked over an open or bleeding crack, over inflammation, infection or pus, or anywhere that working the area could open it further. Deep corn cores need a qualification we do not hold. Depth alone is not the test. Safety is.

The hygiene protocol behind all of it is the same for every appointment, feet or hands. Tools are mechanically cleaned, ultrasound-washed, treated with hospital-grade disinfectant and steam-sterilized, and every autoclave cycle is logged under Alberta Personal Services Standards. Files, buffers and wooden sticks are single-use. Your kit is opened from a new sealed pouch in front of you, and the workstation is wiped down between clients.

Our pedicures are cosmetic foot-care services performed with professional equipment and a hygiene-first protocol. We work only with superficial, uncomplicated conditions. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions and refer anything outside our scope to a physician, podiatrist or foot-care nurse.

Frequently asked questions.

Can you do anything about deep, cracked heels?

The honest answer starts with a boundary. Nothing is worked over an open or bleeding crack, over inflammation, infection or pus, or anywhere that working the area could open it further. If that is what you have, this is not the appointment for it.

Closed, non-bleeding deeper cracks are a different case. Where the technician judges the area safe, they can be worked cautiously and gradually — not taken down in one sitting. That is Advanced Sole Care: staff-added after assessment, explained and agreed with you before it happens, priced at your appointment rather than in advance, and only where the extra time is available on the day.

What our technician can tell you is what she has seen herself. In eight years of practice she has repeatedly seen selected closed, non-bleeding deeper cracks improve substantially across two or three gradual visits, where the client also applies foot cream daily.

That is her own observation of cosmetic skin condition, not a medical outcome and not a promise. It does not hold for every client and it is never guaranteed. Anyone with bleeding, inflammation, a suspected infection or significant pain should seek appropriate medical care first.

Do you offer a medical pedicure?

No. A medical pedicure means foot care delivered by a nurse, a podiatrist or another qualified health professional, and we are none of those. Red Orchid is a cosmetic foot-care studio.

What that rules in: mild cracks, mild calluses and corns, ordinary hardened skin, safe thinning and shortening of thickened nails, and a limited number of moderate areas. What it rules out: open or bleeding cracks, inflammation, infection or pus, deep corn cores, and anything the technician does not judge safe for cosmetic work.

Where you need someone else, we say so and point you to the right person — a family doctor or dermatologist for fungus, infection, warts or an unexplained skin or nail change; a podiatrist for a painful or advanced ingrown nail, a deep corn, a marked deformity or partial nail removal; a doctor or diabetic foot-care nurse for diabetes, reduced sensation, poor circulation, ulcers or non-healing damage.

Why is the sole care done dry?

The disc has to grip: on dry skin it works cleanly and predictably, which lets the technician judge how much has come off and stop at the right point. Pedicures here are done dry, with no foot soak. Chemical callus removers are not part of the standard Sole Care technique.

Can I book if I have diabetes, or an ingrown toenail?

We do not perform a pedicure over active infection, bleeding, ulceration, pus, significant swelling, an open wound, or a painful inflamed ingrown nail.

Diabetes alone is not an automatic refusal. Reduced sensation, impaired circulation, non-healing damage or other elevated-risk factors may require medical clearance first.

Where there is no pain, wound, swelling or infection, the technician may carefully clean the free edge and the lateral nail groove. We do not cut the corner deeply and we do not claim to treat an ingrown nail. At any sign of inflammation the client is referred to a physician or podiatrist.

How often should I book a pedicure?

It follows the feet, not the calendar. While a marked condition is being brought down, roughly every two weeks; at moderate condition, about three; once the skin has stabilized, five to six weeks is the honest interval.

With regular care, feet may gradually need less intensive work — the pattern we plan around, not a promise. Coating runs on its own schedule, and it is always booked as part of a pedicure, never on its own.

How do you keep a pedicure hygienic?

Every tool goes through mechanical cleaning, an ultrasound wash, hospital-grade disinfectant and steam autoclave sterilization, and your kit is opened from a new sealed pouch in front of you. Files and buffers are single-use, and pedicure abrasives are single-use on sterilized metal bases. Nothing is worked over infection, an open wound or an inflamed ingrown nail.

How much is a pedicure?

Each pedicure is priced with its time in the table on this page. Spa Pedicure includes everything; Russian Pedicure is priced by scope: Complete, Toe Nails only or Sole Care only. Advanced Sole Care is never priced in advance or booked on its own: it is added only after assessment, explained and agreed at your appointment. Your estimated total is confirmed before any work starts.
