Spa Pedicure

Dry work. Warm finish.

from C$72

What This Service Is

Our spa pedicure in Calgary runs dry from start to finish. Pedicure discs only cut properly on dry skin, and working dry is what lets us skip chemical callus removers entirely. The soft part comes at the end, where it belongs.

One appointment covers both zones. Nail and cuticle work on all ten toes, sole work across the heel, ball and edges, then warm towels, scrub, massage and oil. Anything beyond that is explained and agreed with you before it is done, never added afterwards.

The service includes:

  • Full toe and nail work — shaping, lateral folds, cuticle and the sub-nail edges.
  • Sole work by disc, across calluses, rough skin and superficial dry cracks.
  • Two warm towels and a scrub, with a two-to-three-minute scrub massage.
  • A two-to-three-minute cream massage of the feet and lower calves.
  • Cuticle oil to finish.
  • Tools opened from a new sealed pouch in front of you.

Coating, removal and design are booked separately, so the price you see is the treatment itself.

How the appointment runs

65–80 min, in the same order every time. The technician checks first and works second.

  • Your feet are looked over — skin condition, nail plates, anything that needs to be flagged before work starts.
  • Antiseptic preparation on a dry foot — that is what the discs need.
  • Nail length and shape corrected on all ten toes.
  • Dry e-file work on the cuticle, the lateral folds and the plate itself.
  • Dry sole work with pedicure discs — calluses, hardened skin, superficial cracks, reduced gradually rather than in one pass.
  • Warm towels, scrub, and the scrub massage.
  • Cream massage of the feet and lower calves, cuticle oil, and home-care advice specific to what was found.

Calluses and cracks are reduced over visits, not taken down to thin skin in one sitting — skin pushed too far too fast comes back harder. Mild cracks, mild calluses and ordinary hardened skin are standard work here, and a limited number of moderate areas fits the appointment too. Where the soles need materially more than that, the technician says so at the table, explains the extra time and what it would cost, and carries on only once you agree. That extension is called Advanced Sole Care, and it is priced at your appointment after assessment rather than in advance.

Why a spa pedicure in Calgary should be dry

A pedicure disc is an abrasive on a rotating base. On softened, waterlogged skin it drags and skids; on dry skin it cuts cleanly and the technician can feel exactly how much has come off. That is the whole argument for working dry, and it has a second consequence most clients care about more: nothing chemical goes near your feet. No callus gel, no acid softener, no waiting for a product to do the loosening.

The equipment is not incidental to that. Rotary work is done on STRONG and Marathon devices with STALEKS pedicure discs, every disc size on hand, and the abrasive grade chosen for the anatomy and the condition in front of us. Disposable abrasives are used once. The metal bases go through sterilization with everything else.

The soft half is real, it is just last. Two warm towels, a scrub, a short scrub massage, then two to three minutes of cream massage across the feet and lower calves, and cuticle oil. It is the finish to a technical treatment — not the treatment.

Worried about the e-file? It is the technique that hurts, never the tool. Our technician trained on it formally — an eighty-hour e-file course at KASYA Nail Club, signed off in 2023 — and the rule at the table is simple: you should feel light vibration and short contact, nothing sharp and nothing hot. Say the word and we stop. Every kit is washed, ultrasound-cleaned, disinfected and steam-sterilized, then stays sealed until the pouch is opened in front of you.

Indications for Procedure

  • Dry heels and mild cracks — the dry, surface kind, without pain or bleeding.
  • Mild calluses, or a few moderate areas that have started to change how shoes feel.
  • Small pressure corns where there is no inflammation.
  • Thickened toenails that can be safely shortened and reduced, with no pain, infection or separation.
  • Feet that are simply overdue and want the full treatment rather than a chosen zone.

Contraindications

  • Active infection, bleeding, ulceration or pus — we do not work over any of these.
  • Significant swelling, an open wound, or a painful inflamed ingrown nail — the appointment is rescheduled.
  • Diabetes is not an automatic refusal on its own. Reduced sensation, impaired circulation or non-healing damage may need medical clearance first.
  • Suspected fungal infection or warts — we stop, we do not diagnose, and we point you to the right person.
  • Any crack that is open or bleeding, and anything where working the area could open it further — along with deep corn cores, which need a qualification we do not hold.

Our pedicures are cosmetic foot-care services performed with professional equipment and a hygiene-first protocol. We work only with superficial, uncomplicated conditions. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions and refer anything outside our scope to a physician, podiatrist or foot-care nurse.

What it costs, how long it holds, and when to come back

C$72, 65–80 min, both zones included. Coating, removal and nail design are separate line items, which is deliberate: if you do not want colour, you do not pay for it. If you do, it is gel polish or shellac, applied very thin. Toenails need no built architecture, thin coating sits comfortably in closed shoes, and it lets us see the plate clearly at your next visit. We do not extend or strengthen toenails with hard materials, ever.

Pedicure coating holds four to six weeks, with a recommended return at four to five weeks. The treatment itself follows the feet rather than the calendar. Feet in a marked condition do best at about two weeks while things are brought down; moderate condition, about three weeks; once the skin has stabilized, five to six weeks is the honest interval. With regular care feet may gradually need less intensive work — that is the pattern we plan around, not a promise.

One addition worth knowing about: Paraffin Therapy is C$20 for feet, or C$30 for hands and feet together. And a manicure booked into the same visit runs as one combo appointment at five percent off, performed one after the other by the same technician.

Booking is required as a rule; walk-ins are accepted only when the technician is available. Red Orchid is at 8500 Macleod Trail SE, Unit 400 - Floor 4, Calgary, AB T2H 2N1.

Frequently asked questions.

Do you offer a medical pedicure?

No. A medical pedicure means foot care delivered by a nurse, a podiatrist or another qualified health professional, and we are none of those. Red Orchid is a cosmetic foot-care studio.

What that rules in: mild cracks, mild calluses and corns, ordinary hardened skin, safe thinning and shortening of thickened nails, and a limited number of moderate areas. What it rules out: open or bleeding cracks, inflammation, infection or pus, deep corn cores, and anything the technician does not judge safe for cosmetic work.

Where you need someone else, we say so and point you to the right person — a family doctor or dermatologist for fungus, infection, warts or an unexplained skin or nail change; a podiatrist for a painful or advanced ingrown nail, a deep corn, a marked deformity or partial nail removal; a doctor or diabetic foot-care nurse for diabetes, reduced sensation, poor circulation, ulcers or non-healing damage.

Why is the sole care done dry?

The disc has to grip: on dry skin it works cleanly and predictably, which lets the technician judge how much has come off and stop at the right point. Pedicures here are done dry, with no foot soak. Chemical callus removers are not part of the standard Sole Care technique.

Can I book if I have diabetes, or an ingrown toenail?

We do not perform a pedicure over active infection, bleeding, ulceration, pus, significant swelling, an open wound, or a painful inflamed ingrown nail.

Diabetes alone is not an automatic refusal. Reduced sensation, impaired circulation, non-healing damage or other elevated-risk factors may require medical clearance first.

Where there is no pain, wound, swelling or infection, the technician may carefully clean the free edge and the lateral nail groove. We do not cut the corner deeply and we do not claim to treat an ingrown nail. At any sign of inflammation the client is referred to a physician or podiatrist.

How often should I book a pedicure?

It follows the feet, not the calendar. While a marked condition is being brought down, roughly every two weeks; at moderate condition, about three; once the skin has stabilized, five to six weeks is the honest interval.

With regular care, feet may gradually need less intensive work — the pattern we plan around, not a promise. Coating runs on its own schedule, and it is always booked as part of a pedicure, never on its own.

How do you keep a pedicure hygienic?

Every tool goes through mechanical cleaning, an ultrasound wash, hospital-grade disinfectant and steam autoclave sterilization, and your kit is opened from a new sealed pouch in front of you. Files and buffers are single-use, and pedicure abrasives are single-use on sterilized metal bases. Nothing is worked over infection, an open wound or an inflamed ingrown nail.

How much is a pedicure?

Each pedicure is priced with its time in the table on this page. Spa Pedicure includes everything; Russian Pedicure is priced by scope: Complete, Toe Nails only or Sole Care only. Advanced Sole Care is never priced in advance or booked on its own: it is added only after assessment, explained and agreed at your appointment. Your estimated total is confirmed before any work starts.
