Flawless Russian Manicure
Our most complete manicure. Dry e-file preparation, cuticle work measured in fractions of a millimetre, and every nail assessed for the direction it actually grows. The finish stays clean for weeks, not days.
A Russian manicure in Calgary is defined by one thing: dry, e-file cuticle work that lets the colour sit right up to the skin line — so regrowth takes weeks to show, not days. At our studio it is performed entirely dry, by a technician trained at Ukrainian professional nail schools — KASYA Nail Club and Victoria Avdeeva School; some clients know it as a Ukrainian manicure or e-file manicure. It is a dry manicure technique, with the cuticle and sidewalls prepared without soaking.
The service includes:
Colour is a separate line, priced on its own.

Our most complete manicure. Dry e-file preparation, cuticle work measured in fractions of a millimetre, and every nail assessed for the direction it actually grows. The finish stays clean for weeks, not days.
The pairing our Russian manicure is most often booked as: dry e-file preparation, then Gel Overlay to reinforce your own nails and correct their architecture, in gel colour. Routine shape correction is included. Three to four weeks of wear, with a refill within 28 days (21 days for long nails).
Our full dry manicure with colour on top: cuticle and sidewall work done entirely with an e-file, then base, gel colour and top coat. Growth is assessed nail by nail and corrected as the gel goes on. Two to three weeks of wear.
The difference is that we do not treat every nail the same. Each one is assessed for strength, flexibility, and direction of growth. Where the architecture itself needs correcting — uneven, upward-growing, downward-hooked — that is gel work, so it is done in combination with Gel Manicure, Gel Overlay or Extensions rather than by preparation alone.
The preparation is done dry, with an e-file — no soaking, no swollen skin. Dry skin shows the technician exactly where dead tissue ends and live tissue begins, which is what makes millimetre-precise cuticle work possible. The colour is then sealed under the cuticle line and levelled to a proper apex: strong where the nail takes stress, thin where it should stay light.
That care shows in how long the result holds. The cuticle area typically stays very neat for about two weeks, and for many clients it looks almost as neat close to three weeks. How long depends on your skin, how quickly it grows back and how you look after it, so take it as the usual range rather than a promise.
Every appointment is with the same technician, Olga Palamarenco, one client at a time. She knows what was done at your last visit, which materials were used and how they wore, and uses that at the next one.
A common worry for first-time clients is whether an e-file will hurt or thin the natural nail. It should not — we work with controlled pressure and professional bits, without aggressively filing the plate. Light touch and vibration is all you feel, and the technician stops if anything is uncomfortable. Every tool comes out of a sealed indicator pouch, opened at your table after ultrasound cleaning, disinfection, and a steam autoclave cycle.

The Flawless Russian Manicure on its own runs 40–55 min: dry preparation of the cuticle and lateral folds, shape and symmetry, growth direction assessed nail by nail, and removal of any coating we applied. No colour — that is a separate line.
Add Gel Polish and the appointment is our Gel Manicure, with 15–20 min on top. Colour goes over a flexible base, worked right to the skin line. Two to three weeks of wear, and the next visit belongs inside three weeks.
Add Gel Overlay as well when the nails grow unevenly — downward, hooked, splayed — or when the plate is too soft to hold a coating flat. Correcting architecture needs gel material to work with; preparation alone cannot do it. That combination runs 70–100 min, and it carries three to four weeks, with the refill booked within 28 days (21 for long nails). Current prices for all three are in the table below.
Routine shape correction is part of the Flawless Russian Manicure, and gel-based architecture correction comes with the gel you book. If a set needs exceptional additional work, our technician says so and agrees it with you before starting, not at the till. Long nails often need an earlier return, usually within two and a half to three weeks.

A dry manicure built around e-file cuticle and sidewall work: no soaking, with scissors where the cuticle needs them. Each nail is assessed first for thickness, flexibility and any damage, and for its shape and growth direction. Here it is booked as the Flawless Russian Manicure, with routine shape correction included.
A soak manicure softens the skin and pushes it back; this one works dry with an e-file, which is more precise at the cuticle and keeps the plate dry under gel. The cuticle area typically stays very neat for about two weeks, and for many clients almost as neat close to three weeks, depending on your skin. It takes longer, and the time is published with the price.
A Russian manicure prepares the nail; it does not treat it. The technician holds an eighty-hour e-file certification, works with light touch only, and stops if anything hurts. Tools come from a sealed pouch opened at your table, and service is deferred over infection or an open wound. The honest trade-off: it takes longer than a quick manicure.
Routine nail-shape correction is included in the Flawless Russian Manicure. Gel-based architecture correction comes with a booked Gel Manicure, Gel Overlay or Extensions. Exceptional additional work may be charged at the technician’s discretion, explained and agreed with you before it begins.
The Flawless Russian Manicure is priced with its time in the table on this page, and most clients book it with colour or Gel Overlay; every combination is listed there. Your total is confirmed before work starts.
